    VLCC De-Pigmentation Serum Review

    By Gayatri

In a previous post, i.e., Skin Logix Advanced Night Repair Serum Review, I mentioned that I try many products to check if they work on evening out skin, tan removal and fading away marks. Among those VLCC De-Pigmentation Serum is one which I tried to even out my skin tone and get rid of tan.

Price: Rs 399 for 40 ml

What Does VLCC De-Pigmentation Serum Claim?
This De-pigmentsation serum is a non-oily formulation, gets absorbed through the skin and increase the rate of skin turnover, and gives a more youthful appearance. It moisturises, protects and stimulates cell generation, resulting in even skin tone and reduction in the appearance of fine lines.”

My Experience With VLCC De-Pigmentation Serum

    Packaging:
This comes in a strong white colored plastic pump tube with two clear plastic caps. You can see in the images that this packaging looks so strong and tight. A large plastic cap closes the product removing which you can find another cap on top of it. Take it out to see a pump using which you can take out the product or serum. This is definitely travel friendly but make sure you don’t drop it. I dropped it once and the cap broke easily. So until you drop it, this one is travel friendly.

Coming to the pump, it’s quite good to take out the required amount of the serum but unfortunately I realized that you can’t use every bit of the product available in the container. Once the pump stops giving you the product, you feel like it’s over. But you’re wrong; don’t throw it away. There’s still more product available in it which may come a couple of weeks more. Open the pump tube and check how much is left. It really hurts when you can’t take out the remaining product. It’s such a waste of product and money. Instead i prefer using a tube or tub packaging without that pump.

    Fragrance & Consistency:
It doesn’t smell strong and is decent like any normal facial cream or lotion. So, no negative comments on this. Coming to the consistency, it’s like lotion, neither runny nor thick; perfect as a serum. Place few dots all over your skin and massage; your skin will absorb it quickly.

My Experience With VLCC De-Pigmentation Serum:
As said this gets into the skin very easily and makes it smooth. So as a serum I think this is perfect for daily use. After toning your skin apply it followed by your regular moisturizer. If yours is combination to oily skin, then this is enough to moisturize your skin. I don’t really apply anything else after using this except in my dry skin days.
Now let’s speak about its claims. As the name suggests this should help in reducing pigmentation. I’ve observed that this one works but takes so much of time. It’s not that effective as the name suggests. Forget about pigmentation and think about regular tan. On using this for a month or so, you can observe slight results. You have pay some patience to see the results. If you have heavy pigmentation then forget this one.

    Pros:
    1. Affordable
    2. Tight packaging.
    3. Travel friendly until you drop it and break it.
    4. Moisturize skin well and mes it smooth
    5. Good for daily use as a moisturizer.
    6. Can skip moisturizer if you have combination to oily skin.
    7. May reduce tan on long run.
    Cons:
    1. Failed to reduce pigmentation.
    2. Will take forever to show results
    3. Product wastage due to packaging
    4. Hard to find offline but available online

    Rating: 3.5/5

    Will I Repurchase This?
No, as I’m trying new products but may get it in future if I need a light lotion for daily use.

Will I Recommend This To Others?
Yes if you need a light lotion for daily use and don’t have heavy pigmentation. This is good as a daily moisturizer for combination to oily skin.
